Lottie Crawshaw

I am a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Mental Health Nurse.  I currently work part time at The National Psychology Clinic, and also as a High Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in an NHS IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) service based in Dorset.

I qualified as a Mental Health Nurse in 2000 and as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist in 2009.  I have worked in acute and complex care mental health inpatient services, as well as primary and tertiary NHS services involving out-reach and recovery with a strong focus on therapeutic modalities including CBT for Psychosis, Depression and Anxiety; Cognitive Remediation Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.  My roles have been largely clinical, although have also included managerial and supervisory responsibilities.  I have worked with adults and families with varying complexity and psychological needs,  whopresent with a range of mental health symptoms and conditions.

For the past 12 years, I have specialised in working with adults with common mental health issues including depression, depression, anxiety, stress, worry, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Health Anxiety, Body Dysmorphia, low self-esteem, and long-term health conditions.  This has included regularly conducting psychological assessments, providing individual and group Cognitive Behavioural Therapy,  conducting training for staff and supervising trainees and qualified health professionals.

In my clinical work, I am passionate about empowering clients to meet their goals, become their own therapist and build resilience to cope with life stresses.  The modalities I use are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, Compassion-Focused Therapy and metacognitive approaches.  My therapy style is warm, non-judgemental, with a focus on collaborative working.
